The US-spec taillight & window setup was controversial (lights originally were IN the window) but I think that full-width extra window is immensely rad.
Here’s the Euro-spec look for comparison:
The US spec sacrificed elegance for regulatory compliance, but I think it looks cool in a funky ‘70s wedge kind of way.
This one’s for sale for $109k. “Just came out of storage...”
What do y’all think of the Khamsin and its Prius-like-but-so-much-cooler rear windows?

The Aztek does it better.

Looks more futuristic in US spec.

That gives me an idea:
I have a mid-engine car, but I still want that cool second rear window.
How hard would it be to do an F50-style engine tease on an MR2?

With some fabrication: Yes.
Cut out in between and under the taillights, replace with mesh. Do the exhaust in stainless steel so it can be seen, with a dual pipe exit under the license plate. I think you would need to cut out the rear section of engine bay and replace it with tube though (similar to drift car front ends)

There’s also the fact there’s a trunk between the engine and the taillights. Would need a trunk delete :/ Good excuse to put in the biggest engine available afterwards :D

That’s where the turbos/intercooler go, then line everything in gold heat tape.

I dislike the US spec because of the bumper difference

A former neighbor of ours had what I thought might’ve been a Khamsin but I’m not so sure based on the lines/proportions:
